Belfair opened in 1994 on a former agricultural plantation. You certainly make a dramatic entrance at Belfair, where the arms of ancient live oaks form a canopy over the roadway just past the guarded gate. Belfair’s courses, both by Tom Fazio, are pleasant but challenging routings that deserve their top 50 ranking in the golf happy state of South Carolina. Both are challenging and appealing to the eye. At 1,100 acres, Belfair’s 730 home sites leave plenty of room for residents and a wide variety of birds that make the golf community’s rookery their home. The natural and the manmade co-exist harmoniously at Belfair.
